Kia Soul Pricing: A Pleasant Surprise!

Posted at 4:09 am under Automotive

When the Kia Soul goes on sale this Spring, there is one thing it won’t come with: sticker shock!

One of the most well received debuts of
the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show was the Kia Soul, a hip, youthful and
stylish vehicle that defies easy description. Sure, comparisons to
various competing models including Scion are expected, but the Kia
Soul manages to distinguish itself from all comers simply for the
reason it is radically different from any car ever made by the Korean
automaker.

Spring 2009 is when the Soul will begin
to appear in Kia showrooms across America, a market that Kia plans to
make 50,000 of these vehicles available annually. In my opinion, the
Soul will sell quite well, perhaps even forcing customers to be wait
listed. Knowing how quick Kia is to respond to customer demand, that
short fall will likely be amended quickly.

While attending the Los Angeles show,
the question of price came up but Kia was keeping mum. Now, word is
out that the base model will retail for $13,995 a price that includes
handling and destination, dramatically lower than what competitors
are selling their competing models for.

According to Kia, the all new Soul will
be available in four trim levels: Soul, Soul+, Soul! (exclaim) and
Soul sport.

Soul+, which includes standard keyless
entry remote, solar glass and 16-inch alloy wheels, will start at
$14,950 and top out at $17,100 when options including the Audio
Package and power moon roof are included.

Enhancing to the Soul! will add the
power moon roof, fog lights and 18-inch alloy wheels and will be
priced beginning at $16,950 and peak at $17,900 with all
available options included.

The Soul sport, designed for those with
active lifestyles, will include side sills, a rear spoiler, 18-inch
alloy wheels and unique front and rear fascias, and will start at
$16,950 and end at $18,600 with all available options included.

So there you have it. A well optioned
five passenger vehicle that will sell for under $20,000 , even for
much less depending on what option packages are chosen.

I believe the Kia Soul will be a hit.
Your turn to find out will be this Spring when the car goes on sale
across America.
