The beat goes on, the Chevrolet Beat that is. The diminutive subcompact from GM is slated to appear stateside next year, an all new model for the Chevy brand.
Pummeled by a tough financial market and high gas prices last year, General Motors was pushed to the brink of bankruptcy but managed to avert collapse when the federal government intervened by lending the automaker some much needed cash. That event likely saved GM, at least for the short term, while signaling the company that they needed to restructure and do that quickly.

GM’s plans to kick Saturn to the curb may be on hold. If the automaker is able to restructure the way they want to, Saturn may live on to fight another day.
The history of the Saturn brand can be traced back to about 1985
when GM management decided that the best assault against encroaching
Japanese brands such as Honda and Toyota was to create an all new car
company. Eventually, the Saturn name was settled on for the company,
which built a factory in Tennessee and began to produce the S-Series.

Chrysler won’t make it even with federal assistance, so says one prominent industry analyst.
With executives from America’s three largest automakers seeking billions of dollars of aid money from the federal government, the question that often pops up is whether the automakers will need additional funding down the road several months hence. The question that isn’t being asked is this one: will the aid actually do any good?
One analyst, Michael Robinet, CSM vice president of global vehicle forecasts, says that as far as Chrysler is concerned, the aid money won’t save the company. In an interviewed published recently in The Detroit News, Robinet said that the “Big Three? most certainly will become the “Detroit Two? when all is said and done.

The Taurus X may be on life support, ready to be killed off by Ford this winter. This CUV has never been popular, a model crowded out in a field over run with competing models.
Among the many problems the Ford Motor Company has encountered over the past few years is trying to come up with a fleet of passenger vehicles with strong customer appeal. This past year the economical Ford Focus has sold quite well and, thanks to retreating gas prices, the F-Series trucks are rebounding while its mid-size twins ? the Fusion, Milan and MKZ ? are also moving off of dealer lots.

What is to become of Saab? Hopefully, something more than what is to become of Hummer, a doomed brand that no one seems to want.
Breaking news: no one wants Hummer.
Well, it really isn’t much news in the first place. When General Motors announced earlier this year that they would actively find a buyer for Hummer, their big niche sport/utility brand, analysts wondered who would want the brand. After all, when your most “fuel efficient? vehicle gets about 19 mpg on the highway, what value does the brand have when gas prices are north of $4 a gallon? Not much.

Mercury marque of Ford vehicles are considered to be of superior built than their regular run of automobiles. Though spelt in undertone, Mercury seat covers are supposed to be more comfortable than others produced by the automaker.
However,
like all good things in life and in automobiles, too, they are not
everlasting, withering away much earlier than other Mercury
accessories. Nevertheless, Covers for Auto, the legendary southern
California based car cover and seat cover manufacturer has the right
answer for such predicaments, creating exact replicas of Mercury seat
covers that look, feel and perform like factory installed covers.
