GM Provides Surprise Reveal of the Chevrolet Beat

The beat goes on, the Chevrolet Beat that is. The diminutive subcompact from GM is slated to appear stateside next year, an all new model for the Chevy brand.

Pummeled by a tough financial market and high gas prices last year, General Motors was pushed to the brink of bankruptcy but managed to avert collapse when the federal government intervened by lending the automaker some much needed cash. That event likely saved GM, at least for the short term, while signaling the company that they needed to restructure and do that quickly.

Ford SVT Raptor: A Truck To Enrapture The Imagination!

Big trucks are back including the Ford SVT Raptor, perhaps the most powerful pickup truck available today.

The Ford Motor Company has certainly been taking its lumps over the
past few years, with 2008 likely to go down as one of the worst years
in the company’s history. Sales are down, consumer credit is tight, and
fluctuating gas prices has wreaked havoc on an already strained
industry.

Ford’s
champion, the F-150 pickup truck, has seen its sales drop sharply as
buyers avoid vehicles that consume copious amounts of gasoline in favor
of smaller, lighter vehicles which squeeze out every drop of fuel
possible. That shift has caught Ford off guard as their most fuel
efficient cars can be found in Europe while its American operation
leans toward heavier, more powerful vehicles.
